What is this tour about ?

The Barcelona Waterfront Segway Tour takes you to Barcelona’s most beautiful waterfront spots – the historical Marina Port Vell, the city’s most popular beach La Barceloneta and the new marina next to the W Hotel, as well as to the Parc de la Ciutadella.

This city sightseeing tour starts with a visit to Barcelona’s biggest urban park. After exploring the Parc de la Ciutadella, the next stop is the Port Vell, Barcelona’s oldest marina, with hundreds of beautiful small vessels and a picturesque port avenue lined with palm trees.

The Port Vell has existed for many centuries and, although it has been remodeled continuously, there are still several well conserved historical buildings to be marveled at, like the late 19th century trade warehouse Palau de Mar and the Port Vell Customs Building. Between the latter, Las Ramblas and the Barcelona Royal Shipyard, the Columbus Monument is located.

Like the Arc de Triomf and many other Barcelona attractions, this 60 meter tall statue was build for the 1888 world exhibition. After leaving Port Vell, passing the Maremàgnum shopping center and the Aquarium Barcelona, the city tour continues to the shorefront

On the way from the center to Barceloneta beach Playa de la Barceloneta – one of Barcelona’s most popular beaches – the tour itinerary continues alongside the outskirts of the La Barceloneta, the old fishermen district.

On the big square in front of the beach, La Plaza del Mar, the tour passes by the Torre de Sant Sebastià, station of the red cable car Telefèric del Port Vell, which was inaugurated in 1931 and transports visitors from the beach to the Montjuic mountain.

The following part of the tour includes the area around the W Hotel and Barcelona’s newest yacht marina, the Marina Vela Barcelona, where spacious terraces offer beautiful views of Barcelona’s coastline.

The Barcelona Waterfront Segway Tour includes some of Barcelona’s most beautiful places, little of which are visited during traditional sightseeing trips like city tours by bus. It offers a comprehensive overview of Barcelona’s maritime history, the ongoing transformation of the city’s waterfront and the role that the mediterranean sea plays in Barcelona’s local culture
